Transformative Changes Underway for Old Naples Pub Property

Naples, FL, August 2nd, 2024 — A new chapter is beginning for the Old Naples Pub, which closed at the end of May after nearly 35 years in downtown Naples. The iconic space at 255 13th Ave. S., off Third Street South, is set to become a new dining destination.

Barbara Walker, president of Neapolitan Enterprises, revealed that plans are in place for a new restaurant featuring outdoor dining, a deli-takeout area, and a kitchen. Mark McLean of MHK Architecture, who presented the exterior changes to the Naples Design Review Board (DRB), confirmed that the new establishment would occupy Units 102 and 103.

The exterior of the building will undergo significant changes, including the removal of extensive vines and a fresh coat of paint in a color named "Perky Peach." Walker is enthusiastic about the new look, describing it as "very Florida."

DRB Chair Stephen Hruby expressed mixed feelings about the vibrant color but acknowledged its trendy appeal. Both the property owner and designer believe the updates will breathe new life into the building, which dates back to 1990.

The removal of the vines, although regrettable to some DRB members, was necessary due to the damage they had caused. The renovation process, which began with the removal of the vines, will continue through the summer, and Walker promised more announcements about the new tenants and developments as they progress.

Additionally, the Lilly Pulitzer store in Unit 101 will temporarily close on August 5 for a complete interior remodel, with plans to reopen in late fall.

Structural changes to the Courtyard Building include filling in two small sets of steps to level the courtyard floor and replacing existing awnings and light fixtures. The changes aim to enhance the appearance of this historic shopping and dining district, aligning with the city’s vision for preserving its small-town charm.

Walker is excited about the project's progress, noting that it has been in the works for a long time. She looks forward to seeing the refreshed building take shape.
